Devlog 2 - Playtest
From the playtest:
- How was the engagement with the EU values perceived by the players of the game?
Some players have more privileges than others, this expresses the inequality in the game. The theme “That’s not fair!” has been clear to the participants, because the players were surprised with the unfair starting points (ZOP) compared to their competitors.
- What can be improved?
The board (general, maybe colours and names), more options, more ways to earn ZOP. More cards to move across the board. And more to do while it’s your turn. The paths are not clear enough, maybe do something with that. Improve the play guide so that it’s easier to start playing. MORE COLOUR. Someone said that 800 ZOP is too much, but they played the game for like 5 minutes, so that’s not fair. More clear pawns.
- How playable was the prototype so far for the others?
Moving in every direction was a fun part, said one of the players. For some it was fun and easy to play, for others it had a lot of questions and they didn’t understand.
- Did the players understand the instructions?
For most players the instructions were clear after reading the Instruction document, but for one group however it was a lot of reading and text, so they lost track of the instructions and gave up earlier.
- What could be changed to improve it?
We will have to make our instructions more clear and visual for everyone to understand, for children etc. We have to emphasize all the obvious first steps the players have to do in order to be able to start the game.
- Did the players understand the mechanics?
Yes, a lot of them did. Some players thought that the pawns were glued to the board.
- What could be changed to improve it?
We needed more time to work on our instructions, so for the upcoming day we shall improve on the feedback points that were not clear to some players.

What are your action points for the upcoming day?
We shall process all the feedback we received by all teams and make our instructions/playing guide more clear so that everyone is able to understand and play the game. We will prepare our game, so it’s ready for the expert to playtest. That means we have to work out the ZOK cards to make them more sturdy and more professional looking.
